Richard led the defence team in this prosecution of a respected fire safety door supply company in respect of alleged breaches of the fire safety order regarding the door installations. Following application to dismiss and legal arguments and thereafter the charges being dropped, a successful application for defence costs was made against the Fire Authority on the basis that the prosecution’s expert’ evidence was ‘plainly wrong in a way that should have been obvious to the Authority.
